Lollie, the Newfoundland, went to sleep for the last time today.
The registered Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog was well known throughout North Thanet. A regular presence at the Carnival and the Queen Vic (Herne Bay ) and QEQM hospital summer fetes, Lollie raised hundreds of ponds for charity during her working career and was a regular visitor to residential homes, the hospice and hospitals in East Kent and receives a special commendation from the Westminster Dog of the Year event. | At nearly fourteen Lollie had, for a Newfoundland, an exceptionally long and wonderful life. Until the last couple of years, when she went into semi-retirement, she was a hardworking PAT dog who brought pleasure and comfort to a large number of people. She was also, of course, a much loved and very important member of our family. She will leave a very large furry hole in our lives and we shall miss her enormously but for Lollie every day was a happy day and that is what matters most. | Lollie, the Newfoundland, went to sleep for the last time today.
