Birchington Post Office – MP meeting

North Thanet`s MP, Sir Roger Gale, has this week (Monday 14th January) met with senior Post Office executive Martine Munby to discuss the future of Birchington`s Station Road Post Office.
The meeting followed expressions of public concern arising from rumours that the well-patronised service was due to close in March with staff redundancies.
“It is correct that there are likely to be changes to the existing service” says Sir Roger “ but I have ascertained that the existing lease on the premises will be extended until at least June in order to allow time for a viable alternative to be established. I am assured that the Post Office has every intention to maintain a good facility in Station Road and that alternative sites are being examined."
